  • Lactose

    Disaccharide sugar also known as milk sugar. In order to be absorbed by our body, lactose must be split into two simple sugars. People suffering from lactose intolerance cannot split this disaccharide into these two sugars because of a partial or total lack of the enzyme lactase.
