How quickly symptoms improve will depend very much on the number and severity of symptoms. Studies have shown that most parents can see the difference in 3 to 14 days.
If your child has been experiencing allergic symptoms, let his or her condition take time to improve. Studies have shown that within 3 days on Neocate there will be an improvement of eczema and other symptoms (e.g. vomiting, diarrhoea). Another study shows that within 14 days on Neocate there will be a resolution of CMA-related gastrointestinal symptoms. Even when your baby’s symptoms have disappeared, keep on feeding Neocate as long as recommended by your child’s Doctor to prevent symptoms returning.
Consult your Doctor or Dietitian on how long your child should stay on Neocate. If your child has been on solids, it is important to make sure that those foods suspected of causing a problem are completely eliminated from the diet. Use only those foods recommended by your child’s Doctor or Dietitian.
